Anybody else think a "0451" from ZT would be sweet? Right in between the 0450 and 0452 at say, 3.75in blade? Full Ti maybe (like the little brother). I love my 0452 and I love big knives and can carry them without a problem, but I think a 3.75 inch version would just be perfect. The 0450 is a tad bit too dainty for me.

Thoughts?

the ZT 0808 pretty much has this nailed. It may not be 3.75 inches but design wise it falls right into line with the 450 and 452 its just out of order numerically. The 0452 is easily grabbing buyers that want a 3.75 inch or larger blade it really is fantastic. 0452 closes into an amazingly compact package which is very appealing thus those that would normally think its 4+ inch blade as to much to carry are watching youtube reviews of the knife then placing their orders.

A potential 0451 would truly have to be striking and really stand out for its specific design, materials, ergos etc. to seperate itself from the other two knives. The 450,452 and 808 pretty much have the slim titanium KVT flipper down. They could try a Lionsteel tactic and design a titanium frame out of one piece of titanium that would be pretty darn cool. This time anodize and polish the titanium. ZDP-189 blade steel on KVT of course. Possibly cerakote the blade. Hollow ground clip point 3.75 inch blade rotating on a reenforced pivot like the Adamas is. tall and thick framelock to lock up with a tall and thick blade tang. Medium detent. This knife would of course be a flipper. The KVT race in the handle and where the KVT bearings contact the blade would also be pre lubricated before assembly. Jimping on the pull side of the flipper tab and jimping along the spine of the blade for about 3 quarter an inch. Titanium 3D machined pocket clip. Possible accents of lightening strike carbon fiber in the handle, clip and blade. Knifes edge is sharpened to a mirror polish at the factory

I like the 808, it's in my pocket right now. But it's not the design of the 045X. I love the Sinkevich design.

We saw the 560, 566, and now 562. Large, medium and small (ish).

CelticCross I think the knife you described would need to start it's own new number family, and realistically to get that F&F it would probably be a limited run, but sounds really nice

While I can see the appeal, I think it would be a really niche market. The 0454 was the collectors piece, and the 0450 and 0452 brought that sexy 454 look into a much simpler form for the common user. The 452 was for those who want "large folders", while the 0450 was the contrary.

There's not enough people barking for "medium" folders. 95% of People either want it smaller, or bigger. From a consumers point of view, I could see the want for a medium folder. But from the marketing end, it's not that easy to start production on a model that might be hit-or-miss.

Also, the 045x series is designed to be so light weight, I couldn't see any real advantage to a medium size other than gaining/losing a half inch.
