Where is this knife? All of the other Sinkevich designs have a CF sided version now, and I can't think of one that would benefit more from a weight reduction than the 0456. I really like the design, but the weight of the handle combined with the shape and slickness has made it probably my most dropped knife. I bought a CF scale for my 0450 before they announced the 0450CF, but haven't had any luck sourcing one for the 0456.

Seems like a 0456CF would be very popular... I'd like a 0456CFBW as well.

I would love to see this and have been begging ZT for it for a good while now. Too my knowledge it is not in the plans at this time.

Sign me up if they do. I love the way this design feels in hand, but it's just too heavy.

I believe you'll find it here. :D

Thanks! Didn't know he already did one. I actually almost asked him to make me one about a month back, but I'm still waiting on the work I gave him back in February. If it turns out good, maybe I'll request one of these... it looks great!

YES!

The knife really would benefit from a bit of a diet. I find the chunky 0456 to have grown on me. Of all the killed models, I figured it would have been one to go before the George designs just because it really is a stumpyish wide blade mated to a heavy handle. That said, it just works.

Going the carbon fiber route only makes sense. I feel pretty well taken care of as is, but had I not bought one with the titanium scales I would be looking at this one closely. Very solid knife that straddles aesthetics with function.

I really wanted to like the 0456. Materials and weight weren't a concern for me - what killed it for me was the design. The flipper tab hit the webbing of my hand when closing it.

It's a slight redesign from being an amazing knife. Switching out Ti for CF won't change that - it just doesn't operate right, at least for my hands.

I like it in concept, and I fear that the sales volume of this model will doom it to never being redesigned. A small modified sheepsfoot flipper has real market value, but it needs a little tuning. It needs a slightly smaller flipper tab so it doesn't hit the webbing of certain people's thumbs, and it needs either to omit or allot a slightly more rounded choil to make that feature anything more than vestigial. It's too small to safely choke up on, and too large to just be a sharpening choil.

I may have to pick one of these up. I have the 0456 and 0456BW and they are my favorite ZT knives. These look really nice.

Just got mine today, beautiful knife. The way it should have been released originally IMO. Love that they shaved some weight of it.

How badly does it throw the blade off balance? I feel like with that heavy of a Ti scale on one side, it would want to flop over in your hand and feel out of place. Correct me if I'm wrong?

I sense no balance difference when flipping mine. Now I will say mine is a bit sluggish for a ZT. My previous 456's seemed snappier. Changes nothing though. Love the thing and am about to pull the trigger on a backup.

I know, I know.. this thread is old, but I have a question for the guys out there with 456's

If you were deciding between a 456 in either cf or full titanium (black wash version in particular) and weight wasn't a big concern, which model would you go for?

The 456 has been nagging at me for some time now, and I'm probably going to do something about it soonish. I'm on the fence since I equally like the looks of the bw and the cf for different reasons. I have an 0392 and I like the way the black wash shows wear. Also I'm a fan of CF in general so it's a tough decision.

Is the smoother action of the full Ti versions a thing or are the CF versions smoothing out equally?

Pictures never hurt for comparison either;)
