ZT 0550 - new materials make gor great pimp jobs...Unidirectional CF & Kirinite!

Here are 2 new materials I got to play with...The only thing better than an 0550 is one with a fresh set of scales

First up is unidirectional Carbon Fiber. It has a twill weave on the top layer, each subsequent layer has fibers going in a single direction. It gives the look of layered g10. This scale has a satin finish with a "river" pattern:

Here is a material called Kirinite. Its a bit softer than g10, but seems to take a nice satin finish, as well as a high polish. Comes in several different colors, though hard to get your hands on some of them. This one has a faux bolster pattern with tuffthumbz famous reptilian on the bottom

Still expiramenting with the materials...but Im pretty pleased so far

blue with red and white stripes
blue with yellow stripes
black with red and white stripes
yellow with red stripes
a green kind that has spots of black with white stripes
matalic brown with white stripes

That's all I know of....

But yeah they look great Keeth! If you're interested I think gavko used some blue/yellow kirinite a little while back....

Those are awesome! I love the Kirinite! Especially because it's Michigan color, just a lighter blue.

1. Custom

2. bark river knife and tool uses it sometimes, they call it "lava flow"
