Ok, I am gonna get an 0550. That part is done, and I'm very excited. Now, should I get the new version with the deep carry clip and lock bar cutout or get the old style for about 40 bucks less. Any other differences between the two? Thanks in advance

That depends on if you like deep carry or not.
I don't really, so old style for less money would be my choice.:)

Yep only 2 differences. I am with stabman spend less money. Also do your self a favor and order from kershawguy. If he still has the old style he sells them as cheap as anyone.

If you decide on the newer one call New Graham. You'll be surprised.

I think the new version looks nicer, but actually prefer the function of the old style. The old clip makes the knife much easier to retrieve from your pocket than the low-rider on the new one. Having the lock bar cutout on the inside also increases the detent tension, which I like. Save the $40 and buy yourself an orange scale. Judging by your username and location, I know you want one! ;)

I'm also not a fan of deep carry folders, so I'd go for the best value. The only other difference is the lockbar cutout and I haven't seen anything that shows one style to be superior to the other. I've had two of the original versions and they've worked just fine. I'm very happy with the way Kershaw handles S35VN. Mine get extremely sharp pretty easily compared to some steels I've used, and they seem to hold up well.

The old style doesnt look like it carries that high, so I'll probably just go with that. Anyone got any pics of how it carries in pocket?

Yeah man, thats what I'm thinking.
p.s. GOOOO TIGERS!!!!

Either way you can't go wrong, I was going to save for the new version but chose to save the money. At the end of the day I have no regrets. The 0550 is already a great bargain at it's normal price but getting it discounted... It is an amazing deal.

Alright, got an old style ordered. Now I need a scale for about 50 bucks. Thats all I want to spend. Any recommendations on who to go to or if you do it, and do it well, let me know. Otherwise, throw some more pics up to keep me occupied while I wait on the mail anxiously...haha.

Mine was done by Dan at Kryptoglow. Click my username and shoot me an e-mail if you want his contact info. I am not a big fan of posting other peoples' info publicly.

I would go with the older style, I have both models. The old one doesnt ride as high in the pocket as you might think by looking at it. I agree with some of the others an older version with a aftermarket scale would be the best choice imo.

These were done by Rival1314 @ $40 a scale. These are G10 and he is great to work with.

It came in...and its AWESOME. Thanks for the help guys. Now to get a scale, and I'll be set...well, for a week or two. Who are we kidding, it never stops.
