this knife really never did it for me... i liked it, its a great user but i never really loved it. i dont have words to describe it but if i had to compare this knife to something it would be like lowfat/fat free mayonnaise. not quite the real thing, close but not quite close enough and kind of gross when compared to the real thing. im not a snob, im just being sarcastic and i have way too many knives... who am i kidding, i honestly feel that i dont have enough hah! yeah im sick :(.

so i modded it, and now that im done... its the tits and i want to have sex with it

this may or may not be your thing, just thought id share :)

Nice mod btw, what did you use to do it?

Oh and that is quite the bevel you got there, what angle did you use?
 
i used some jack daniels and a dremel... the dremel and sandpaper wheel things did most of the work. went real slow so it took a lot of time and jack.

the bevel? i honestly dont know *stupid lansky* i just went with it. its some mean slicer now and if i would have to guess its at about 23-25* inclusive :)

I think it looks good, 0550 and 0560 seem to be very popular. It is great to see mods on something that I'm sure a number of people would be upset if there was a tiny scratch.
 
I'm not too into choils, but you are, so good on you. Just be careful not too mix too much Jack Daniels with that choil.

That is a seriously nice edge. I'd have guessed 20 degrees inclusive, based on the width of the bevel. Must cut like crazy.

I just got the 0560. I really, really like it, and I've had trouble getting close to any Kershaw/ZT. I took a dremmel to the scale that hung over the liner a bit, partly blocking access to the lock. It's much nicer now. I also dremmeled the sharp jimping behind the flipper. Those things were cutting into my finger with every flip. Now everything is smooth.

And now the knife works better for me.

i highly advocate that knives are meant to be used, molested and sometimes bastardized :)
 
I love my 0550, seriously I think its a great knife but that thing right there is plain sexy! Fantastic work looks as if you did that sort of thing professionally

I was thinking of having someone throw the Hinderer choil on my 0560 for me.. your post is further convincing me.. I dig it..
 
Looks great, but I think you've upset quite a few people over there in the other thread about "not understanding choils." :p
 
It looks amazing man, I would buy one if they came like that. From factory it's not really my cup of tea either.

I'd rock that in a heartbeat...maybe if it was a factory option........Oh yeah...can I get a side of Dauntless with my ZT please...
 
Awesome. The big choil and the aftermarket scales are the bomb-diggity. You guys are making me want to buy one of these suckers.... :eek:
