Just received some knives today in the mail from BF's own Barry H. He did up my ZT 0551 and Benchmade Lum 760 with some killer grooved carbon fiber scales. I can not explain how happy i am with these. He did a fantastic job with them. The only problem i have is that after recieving these i know im going to want to send many more to him and my wallet will be taking a hit. haha With that said his prices are very reasonable and fair and the workmanship far exceeds them. Thanks again Barry. Pics below, sorry for the quality.

They look good. How do they feel compared to the original ZT scales?

...and just haven't had the expendable income lately to get some knives over to him. You can bet I will as soon as I can!

Just my .02, with one who has super-sweaty mitts, I'd have Barry make my ZT0551 scale the thickness of the original + the 410 stainless liner, thereby taking the stainless liner out of the equation altogether. That way, the only steel (albeit stainless) proned to spot rust would be the blade itself.

The impact of my sweat mitts on 410 stainless was what moved me from Axis-locking BM's to all-ti-framelocks. If you're not a perspiring freakazoid like me, I don't suppose it would matter much, though the lack of the 410 liner could lighten up the overall knife a bit too, I suppose.

Either way, those are fantastic looking. Love the textured carbon fiber, and what a way to customize an otherwise "production" knife!

Professor.

The Benchmade was originally an all ti frame lock. Replacing the one ti side with the grooved carbon fiber actually made a good deal of difference in the weight but the balance still feels intact. I could not be happier with them.

Glad to hear that you like my work:thumbup::D I appreciate the work!

to those of you that haven't seen me around, I usually post over on the Chris Reeve Forum.

I got my start modifying knives by working on my personal Sebenzas, I guess it mushroomed and now I am doing several scales for high quality production knives, mostly Sebenzas, Striders and Emersons a year.

Check out my photobucket link in my sig line, there's many projects I have done over the years. :)

Wow, those are some gorgeous scales. I love carbon fiber, so I guess I can add some Barry H custom CF scales to the long list of things that'll be competing for my knife budget money in the future. :D

I have an orange scale for a sebenza that Barry made for me. Great guy to work with and he does excellent work.
