a good friend of mine, forum member harglbargl, got an 0551 a little while ago. he's borrowing a couple of my knives and i asked if i could borrow the 0551. so far i like it quite a bit. beefy, thick, sharp, etc. if i had an extra 200 burning a hole in my pocket i'd pick one up. guess i'll just wait for the 0550 to hit the street (doubt i use my knives hard enough to tell the difference between ELMAX and S35VN anyway.)

its gonna be hard to give this one back. :D .....:(

I wish I had handled it a little bit longer Tuesday, it really is right up there with the XM-18.

So where do I sign up to get harglbargl to send me his knives?

I've got #580 that I have to get back to ZT. Developed lock play literally just sitting in my safe in it's box. Put it in there after it's "turn" in the carry rotation. Opened/closed it just before putting it away. A week or so later when it was "up" again, I pulled it out, opened it, and noticed up/down play in the blade. Obviously the blade play fairy's didn't break into my safe so it must have happened when I put it in or pulled it out. Just weird. This is only the second folder I've ever owned to develop this. The other is a VERY high mileage Emerson SSOCFK that I carried for years on duty, but that thing isn't even remotely in the same league this ZT.

Can't wait for the 0560/0561 to come out so it doesn't hurt so bad to send this in!
 
Had my 0551 for less than a week and I can tell it is easily going to be my EDC knife for a long time to come or until the 0561 comes out. I cant believe this knife kicked my S&G out of my pocket. Every aspect of this knife is amazing.
 
I like what I'm hearing as I have one on the way (probably by midweek) and it'll be my first ZT.
 
I really like my 0551!!!! but to me it only takes a second to see how much nicer my xm18 is .imm excitied for the 0560 s cause I think those are more close in design
 
Just got mine today! Fantastic knife, much better in person than I thought it would be looking at vids and pics.

Thank you Thomas for an awesome blade! I received my 2nd 0551 the other day and I'm very impressed! This is actually my 2nd 0551 as I traded my first one (had bronze anodizing treatment) and was so happy for the opportunity to be able to get #885 and it'll definitely be a keeper. I'm so impressed that I cancelled preorders for a Startac and Large Starbenza in order to allocate funds for my 560, 561, and 777. On the job I need hard use folders so ZT is right up my alley! Thanks for the awesome blades!!!
 
I got #256.Excuse the old pic with the nasty edge:o.It looks better now.

I love this knife.Rock solid lock-up,with zero play!:thumbup:
