I just received my new ZT 0551 and noticed the blade has a very slight recurve.

Do you guys think this is intentional or secondary to the factory sharpening process as seen occasionally on other non recurve production blades?

I have 4 ZT 0551s and have noticed the same thing on all of them. You should be in the clear.

Could you post a picture? I haven't seen anything like what you're describing from other people's pictures.

No pic as of yet, if you put the blade, edge down on a atraight surface, a piece of granite in my case, it is there. I only asked because it is so subtle and seems to me like it was potentially from the factory belt sharpening process. To be more clear in my question, is it a recurve by design?

Not really a recurve, but mine flares out every-so-slightly just before the choil.
You can see it if you lay the edge against a flat surface. But we're talking a millimeter or less here.
I have lots of knives that do this from sharpening. It's pretty common on production knives.
I will lose no sleep.

Good description. It's extremely, extremely slight on all of mine too -- you're right that it's not enough to really be called a recurve.

It's from the belt sharpening, took me two trips to the XXC stone to fully remove it :(

It shouldn't be like that but it is.

Yea, after an hour on the the old stones mine is straight as an arrow!
