I just got a zt 0566 cf. As I was doing research, the cf version of this knife has the emax steel. And the g 10 version has the s35vn steel. But my 0566cf blade is stamped with s35vn blade steel. Is this common for zt/kai to do? Or is it a rare mistake? The blade is still marked with the 0566cf stamp. And those ser # is 3825. Thanks for the help.

where did you buy it from? could be a fake/clone. this is extremely common with clones.
or if you bought it used, maybe someone put a CF scale on the non CF version. or swapped the blade.

...or a clone with the CF scale added to it. im not positive but i dont think they make a clone of the 0566 in CF.

Interesting. I didn't know ZT had changed steels in the 0566. My 0566 with G-10 was made with Elmax steel. I bought it a little over a year ago directly from a ZT dealer so there's no doubt about the authenticity.

I would hope it's not a fake. It was an xmas present. Not so much pissed it is but the fact a family member bought a fake one

That'd why I asked. Wanted to know if ne one knew. I've seen the g10 ones in both elmax and s35vn. So I know they made the blades in both steels

it may not be a fake, and your family probably wouldnt know. i did a search and i cant find any fake 0566cf s35vn on aliexpress. so ... this is strange.

I meant it as, they thought they were buying a real one and got sold a fake one. Wouldn't want them wasting money on a clone when they thought they were getting the real deal.

I can rule out that they put a carbor fiber scale on a normal g10 version, because the blade is stampedal right with the "0566cf" stamping.

if you bought it from bladeHQ its legit. those places dont sell fakes.

Someone recently wrote a review on amazon stating that zt does not use elmax anymore on the cf version. And listed in the 2016 catalog, that s35vn was the steel they were using on it. So that helps out a little.

I believe I read here on the forums that ZT was converting to S35VN from Elmax for all of their knives, so you may have one of the new generation. My only other ZT is the 0770CF in Elmax, but I see that it now comes in S35VN instead. So I'm pretty sure your knife is legit.

You need to post pictures. There is nothing showing a cf 0566 with s35vn anywhere. Zt lists it on their site with elmax and so does blade hq.
