I have had my ZT 0560 for about 6 months now... Its a sweet knife! But I notice the frame lock is closing in on the other side of the frame. Its about 3/4 the way there already and I Havnt had the knife that long. I mean I Havnt even needed to resharpen it yet.. What gives? Does the knife have replacement warranty on that? Given its Ti can't be cheap to replace. Noticed on the lock itself has a slight raise to it. Kinda likes its ment to goto that part and stop. I know Ti is strong but also isn't it a soft metal? Kinda like gold?. Anyway. I've used the knife maybe a few dozen times and bought a pm2 that now is my edc in rotation.. Just wondering about my ZT.. It Started at half way lock

It should stay there.
Tighten up the pivot to max free fall and make sure everything else it tight and it should not budge any further.
Mine settled at 50 as most of them that I have seen.
Only send it in if it bothers you. But it should not be an issue at all.
Matt

From what I've read around here, recent ZT's sent in for that come back worse than before. So much that I won't even send mine in to sharpen. Screw that.

Lol. I dont know what to tell you I dont work there. Sounds like you are already pissy about it. I sharpen my own knives so I cant say much about that.
Those are rare instances where people make a big deal out of an occasional bad warranty work.
Think nothing of it. If it seriously bothers you. Call , be professional and explain what would make you happy to be a returning customer.
That matters to them.

I kinda thought you were leaning toward the OP taking measures into their own hands...

I read some gripes in a thread somewhere just wanted to pass along a friendly warning. Maybe I can find the thread.

I cant seem to find it, but notable problems were uneven bevels for sharpening and lock rock/worse than before lock issues.

I've never had the pleasure of dealing with that any of that, but I've always been excited about the fact that I could send in my kershaws for free sharpening if I needed to. But I was steered clear of that option, and said thread was responsible. Just wanted to share that, I remember one person saying they called and that their knife supposedly fell under the specs and there was nothing that could be done at that point.

But the proof is in the pudding and I can't find the thread so before I get flamed up the wa-hoo I'll settle for being that guy with a bone to pick.

No skin off my back.

You Just have to be thorough when you talk to them I guess.
Best of luck to all of yal.

FWIW I've sent in a few ZTs for lock rock (550 and a 560) and they both came back perfect and stayed that way. Just my experience.

I have an 801 and had a 550 that both settled into pretty late lockup. So long as the lock doesn't stick and doesn't jam into the scale, you are fine. I am used to knives with pretty early lockup so I was worried at first, but my only lock failure has been from my stupid hands being stupid, not from the knife.

I think I recall Kershaw saying that the 560 was designed to settle into around 50% lockup, like a lot of frame locks are. Later lockup means the lock has to travel farther to slip off. Later (over 40%) lockup is really a good thing.

How about a picture before everyone loses their sanity? From what I'm reading, the pivot screw is way loose, I could be wrong though. Not all, but some folks complaining about the customer service would also complain if they were to be hung by the neck with a brand new rope. Consider the source.
