Hey guys I've got a question with all you ZT 0560 owners,

I recently got mine and I LOVE this knife. But recently the knife's lock up has been getting stickier and sticker. Now when I look at the knife, it's lock up is going near 55%. Originally it was at 30-40%, so i was wondering if anyone had similar problems. I checked the lockbar and cleaned it in case of oil and its still sticking, ive only had the knife for about a month...:(. Needless to say I sent in my knife to be serviced....I know my knife is a real ZT, i actually bought it off of "kershawguy" that many people recommended on this forum so that much is out...is my knife defective? Also, how long is the warrenty service anyways? i cant really go without my baby :(. Gonna be using my 0300 as a EDC knife (bit heavy, but i love it compared to my other knives).:D

Have you tried applying graphite to the blade tang? That should take care of the stickage, it does on mine. The lockup on mine is later than yours and I'm not going to worry about it. I have confidence if I come up with a issue ZT will resolve it.

The stickiness will go away and it just needed to break in.

Bingo. Ti frame locks will wear relatively fast initially but will typically settle in once the tang and lock bar mate to each other. The stick will go away with time, graphite or Sharpie on the lock face will help til it breaks in. Your knife sounds 100% normal to me.

I had the same issues/concerns with mine and like the posts above, it is normal. Takes a while to wear it in. You can use graphite [pencil] to help break it in. Trust me, it gets better :D

I've been reading and you guys all seem to be in agreement, and i can see why. but when i compare my Ti frame lock with the ZT 0300, the 0300 has never been sticky or had traveled such a large percentage before. My 0300 actually hasn't changed in percentage since the day ive gotten it (about 1/2 a year ago) and that used to be my EDC. I know its a small detail on a such a great knife, i just thought that since the 0300 didnt have "issues" like what my 0560 had, i assumed that there was something wrong with the 0560.

It just varies. i've had plenty of titanium framelocks that were never sticky and many that were sticky.
