Hey guys,

I pre-ordered my 0560 from knifeworks back in october, it appears that most of you guys have already gotten yours, and I have received no information from knifeworks yet, and I'm getting pretty annoyed. Anyone in the same boat? Or have any info?

Thanks,
Chris

I don't think Knifeworks has gotten theirs yet. I talked to them probably a week and a half/2 weeks ago and they hadn't heard anything about when they were getting their shipment. Same with GPknives and I ordered early enough to be notified with the first wave for sure.

thanks, I emailed them today, no response yet
It is Sunday, they like to enjoy a day off as well I would imagine. No need to be impatient, it doesn't get you anywhere. Some people that have the knives paid a premium for them ($400+). Have a litte patience, the 0560 is a regular production item, it isn't going anywhere.

I also pre ordered through several dealers in June 2011 and am like 102 on the short list. The demand for this particular knife is extraordinary so with their large amount of dealers world wide I won't see this knife for awhile. I resorted to buying on the secondary market like I did with my Hinderers. Actually the secondary market price is less than $400. This knife is definitely worth that. I've waited 4 years for some of my Randalls but they also can be had on the secondary market for about $100 over retail. I look at this whole thing like paying premium for sweet corn in the summer, supply and demand first one that sells it gets more for it, as supply catches up the price goes down. That being said that first sweet corn of the year sure tastes good. Getting that 0560, XM or Randall ahead of time sure feels good also.

Yes, it will definitely be awhile I preordered in June as well, and am no where near the top of the list, most the dealers that did get their shipments only got 30 of each so far, so pre-ordering in October, I'd expect another couple months wait.

I'm gonna bide my time, and wait until the feeding frenzy subsides, and buy one off the dealer shelves at normal retail price.
I'm not in any hurry. I have good knives to hold me over until then.

There is no way I'm paying $400 to get a $260 regular production knife, just because they are new and hard to get right now.

I preordered in June also. I am number 58 on the list for an 0561. Thats after a shipment that has already gone out. If you preordered in october you will be waiting for a bit. I have heard some dealers won't be getting these until June. I know Kershawguy had roughly 500 preorders for both model numbers. All we can do is be patient! :)

I do agree with what you're saying especially about the $260. price tag, however retail is $325 and most secondary prices are around $375. This knife is worth the price IMHO. On another thread that AlphaHunter started was February 11,2011 about the Flipper coming and the wait started then. My expectation was to have one by XMas last year, so paying a little more and stop the wait for me was worth it. Your are right again on the feeding frenzy, my hat off to Thomas, Rick and ZT. They have hit a home run on this one, both in quality and marketing. It also has given us on this Forum something to talk about, after all that is what this is all about, bring knife enthusiast together discussing knives.
