Just bought one NIB from the exchange and received it today. First impression is - this knife is huge! It's a beast! Fit and finish is excellent. Lock up is rock solid and the KVT is outstanding. Much smoother than the Spyderco Southard I had. I initially thought I would put it up for sale due to its size but I am going to carry it fir a while and see how it goes.

I love my 560s. They carry so nice! I never notice it.

I actually have one of mine up for trade for a Southard. I've been wanting to experience it. I've never seen one in person.

I have had multiple 560/561's, and I really wanted a Spyderco Southard. I handled two of them at blade this weekend, and it almost made me cry. I am so glade i didnt trade a 560 for one. I am no longer looking for a Southard. I am sure this is not the case with all of them, but it just left a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe i will find one oneday that will change my mind.

Why did you almost cry? Why the sour taste??

Maybe you'll save me from the same mistake

When I first got my 0560 I thought it was huge too. Now after carrying it for a year, it seems perfect and I don't like my "small" knives as much.

My Southard had very sharp lock bar cut outs. Actually rubbed my fingers raw opening and closing it. The point on the clip comes sharp enough to actually poke through your pants if your not careful and the bearing system was not nearly as smooth as my new 561. These issues are correctable but should not be present in a $240 knife. The pros are it has a great blade to handle ratio and carries very well. Also has great blade steel and feels very solid as well. I was actually looking for another one before I picked this ZT up and I'm glad I found this first!

I was just underwhelmed with the speed of the bearing opening, and (not an issue with the actual knife at all) it was almost too small for my hand. It was just a bummer that I had the same experience with another southard across the room, 20 mins. later.

I love my 0560! I have used 0350 for 2 years and the upgrade to a 0560 is unregrerable. Now take it for what it is I use mine to slay boxes at work. Now I work at Walmart and the knife disappears in the pocket making it less imitating to a customer if they even notice.

It is smoother, but that just means it's more promiscuous. :)

These are my two favorite knives and which is #1 just depends on how I feel that day. The Southard isn't whipsaw smooth, it's more like whipped cream. But that's just part of the character of the knife. I'm really glad I have both.

I have a Southard and a ZT-0560. Both are nice, but for my uses, the Southard is a much better match, especially after putting a STR lowride clip on it.

The Southard is in my pocket most of the time. It has become my primary EDC. A great combination of handle size, usable blade length and weight.

This knife is weird lol. It is way too big for anything I would use a knife for and every time I look at it I remind myself to put it on the exchange. I end up putting it in my pocket more often than not though. It's a hell of a knife and I'm having a hard time deciding to sell it. It's a tank but has excellent fit and finish and it flips incredibly smooth. I think it's growing on me.

If you think the 560 is big you better avoi the 300/200's :) when I got my 561 I loved how small it felt compared to the 300 I was used to carrying ha
