So I recently got the zero tolerance 0561 great blade. It was super smooth at first. After flipping it over and over it started to squeak. So I took it apart put it back together and the squeaking stopped. After flipping it 200+ it becomes harder and harder to open with each flip and squeakier and squeakier. Every time I take it apart and put it back together it almost restarts as in it is buttery smooth with no squeak at all but after 20+ flips it becomes almost impossible to open. Also there is blade play and the lock bar can be pushed in a little ways.

have you tried cleaning all the moving parts and the caged bearings? I would put a dab of oil on each side of the blade.

I found the same problem with caged bearings. Take the knife apart, clean them really well, throw some quality lube on them, work it in well, put it back together, and enjoy the knife until you need to do it again.

It feels like to me that is is the detent because if I push the frame lock to the side the knife moves just like it should. I have actually taken the detent off and it worked buttery smooth.

I don't think the detent would cause any squeaking. I would try the lube first and I'm sure that will take care of the problem. Most of these issues can be taken care of with disassembly and cleaning. It is the first thing I do when I get a new knife even though it doesn't really need to but always works better when I do.

I think I found the problem so I took it apart and I was looking at the ball bearings and all of them are shiny except three on one. Does this have any thing to do with it?

did you put any lubrication on the bearings? If not then that is what you need. My 801 was doing the same thing before I put some of Chris Reeve's grease on it.
