Hi Folks,

I got this one on a trade for a really good price and amazing like new shape, dead center, great detente, fires open hard and drop close beautifully smooth. Annnnd with the new 204P Blade! with the Hinderer slicer grind.

this one in my opinion is on par in build and material quality to the real Hinderer...

Anyways, I have been very found of the wharncliffe blade that Rick had done for his older xm18 and though heck I want the same on this knife and it would be pretty awsome. (please voice your opinion on this as I may be making a big mistake)

I know what you guys thinking... the slicer grind is better for utility and EDC purpose and I totally agree but I have tons of knives with belly in full flat and shallow grinds and just want to make this one special to me.

So... please point me in the right direction to who I should seek to send this knife for the wharncliffe - zero grind

You'll remove some serious material to make that blade a wharncliffe. Not sure it will be worth it, but if you can get someone to make a brand new blade I'd love to see a wharny 562!

Yes,... I will loose pretty much the whole belly part, and also the top swedge, that will give me a much lighter knife to carry thou ;)

Henry,

while I haven't done the specific grind conversion in question, I have done quite a few others which are pictured below, so this should not be a problem either ;) will be a great project!

Emerson conversion to tanto from conventional:

Hang on! Let me get a tissue to wipe off my drools...
Amazing! That last 2 pics are awesome! I would take that with less belly.

Wow, that is fantastic work [emoji106] love that ZT with the thin dual grind

Well I finally got it in and got to work! First, I marked it all out... then got to grinding. Henry wanted the Wharncliffe conversion and wanted it zero ground.

sooo, how does this look mounted? seems like the edge would be at an upward angle?!?

Yes the edge will be at an upward angle somewhat, but it won't poke out of the handle =) Some custom makers prefer this design from what I have seen too, all a personal preference thing!

Yes Henry, do keep us posted after you get it reassembled... would love to see how it turns out.

yeah, wasn't inteded to be negative, contrary to what it may have sounded like. the craftsmanship looks just awesome. very cool!

Looks really good! I would've kept the curve on the top, but that's just me. Nice work!

I will be posting the complete knife when it comes back with a review :) but Josh's work is excellent and he is on top of his communications, very prompt and always checking with you with his progress to make sure he is doing exactly how you want it and also his inputs are all well received. Very pleased and happy :D
