So I finally got my hands on a 0562, and I love the action. However, I'm a lefty and I went to swap the pocket clip over and I can't for the life of me get the scale side screw to come out so I can swap it over. Is there something I'm missing here? I took the whole knife apart except that one screw. It just won't budge.

They may have put a bit of lock tight on it. If you have a soldering iron try to heat the screw slightly and that will help it come loose if lock tighted.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I just tried heating it up and now it looks like I've managed to strip the screw trying. I am quite unhappy.

Man I feel for ya, nothing like getting a new knife and having that happen. Happened to me once too. Maybe you did more damage to the tool than the screw and a new driver might still grab it?

What kind of torx drivers are you using? The cheaper ones will cause no end of aggrevation with stripped screws.

I'm using a decent husky driver set. I'm sure it's not stellar, but it's one of the nicer sets I've seen in that section of Home Depot and places like that. Maybe I'll try another set if I can find one laying around the house. I'll be pretty upset if this thing truly has to be sent to ZT just that quickly.

finally got it! it took an already previously messed up cheap driver head and a T-handle socket to finally get it off, but I got it and now it's back together! thanks a bunch doc!

ZT will send you all of the screws, pocket clips, etc. that you need at no charge. Call their CS or go to their "Contact" page and send them the info that way.

Yea, I already requested a full set of replacement hardware when I knew I had it coming in. I was concerned I wasn't going to be able to get it off to replace myself, and would have to send it in for warranty work. But I got it now, and as soon as the new hardware comes in, I'll swap it out!

Perfect. You planned ahead.

I had a husky driver from home depot and it was good at first but eventually started to strip screws. I broke down and bought a nice Wiha Torx set and they are definitely worth the money. You'll never have a problem again.

I bought a nice USA-made set and still had to grind the tips flat to get a better fit. Worth the effort though as they fit perfectly now.

Hmmm I had never given much thought to a nicer torx set but I'll definitely have to look into that. I definitely want to take care of my blades well. Thanks guys!

I'm also a lefty and had the same problem when trying to change the clip side. The clip and the spacer went flying due to the pressure I had to exert to remove it but once I found it it just went back in. Be careful you don't lose the spacer when removing the clip, sometimes it will separate. There is a good video in the forum but the clip sometimes doesn't come as easy. I posted about it.
Wiha or Wera are the way to go

The cheapie sets aren't built to exact sizing standards so they are usually off a little. When you need a t8 and the t8in your set is actually smaller, it strips your screws. Wiha has more exact sizing (hence more expensive) and I'm pretty sure they are what ZT uses in the factory.
