Hey BF,

The ZT 0562 seems to be pretty universally liked, me included. One complaint I haven't seen anywhere, for a "hard use knife" it is kind of weird the knife pocket clip cannot accommodate any thicker pants. I noticed this when I tried to EDC it with my in my 5.11 jeans where they have the reinforced front pocket, the knife wouldn't go all the way down sadly and was very tight. Just curious has anybody else noticed this? Good knife, just kind of weird.

Thanks for your time,

Gideon

No such issue with clip for me. I sold mine for one reason - the flipper. When closing the flipper would hit my thumb BEFORE the detent was cleared. Drove me crazy. Ruined the knife for me. Other than that, loved it. Won’t keep a flipper that is designed like that.

The 5.11 pants I have use a very thick knife patch on the RFP. I don't think I have any folder with a pocket clip that'll fit all the way down on there.

I figured you'd be mentioning one of the issues above, or even the free spinning pivot issue, but I was wrong...LOL

:D First thing I tried to do with my 5.11 "tactical" pants was clip my "tactical" pocket knife to the pocket. No-go. That knife patch is seriously thick. A fold-over deep carry clip with enough clearance might work, but those are mostly after-market. Factory fold-over clips don't seem to have enough clearance. At least, not the ZTs, and BMs that I've had.

The ZT 0301 has had no issues with the pocket & the benchmade deepcarry clip has had no issues either with the 5.11 jeans front reinforced pocket.

I really like mine but it has a few issues. There is no detent to speak which is ironic because people complain about the detent found on a genuine Hinderer.

When cutting light materials, the lock bar moves significantly towards the scale. Eventually this one is getting sent in for service. Fortunately, KIA has top notch customer service.

Yes you were wrong, and let's stop taking this thread off-topic. It was just a quick post about the pocket clip on the ZT 0562.

Guess I haven’t found the full thickness 5.11 pants yet. I’ve yet to find a pair of pants that made the 0562 clip a problem.

My 0562 has a very strong detent.

That was kind of annoying when I had mine. If you had stuck with it, and played with it more the detent ball ends up wearing a nice little ramp on the edge of the tang and it gets much better :)

Not to rain on your parade, but I sent my ZT's with sliding lock bars in and they returned them and did nothing to fix it. :(

Sounds like a problem with 5.11 pants...

I've had 3 562s, and 4 clips for them. They all suffered from the poor clip clearance on the tip. I fixed one that I thought would be a permanent keeper by bending it out slightly, but all of mine struggled to get onto any pants thicker than basketball shorts. Very odd shape to the clip.

That said, my 0562CF feels like it was made for dress pants, with the satin blade, carbon fiber scale, and incredibly tight clip clearance.

I bought a 562 when it first came out and actually broke the clip. I was putting the knife into the pocket of zippered snow pants and when I went to retrieve it from my pocket it had fallen inside of the pocket along with the remnants of the clip. ZT quickly replaced it for free no questions asked.

Yeah but until you disassemble the knife and put it back just to find out the the detent ball is no longer aligned perfectly to that little ramp :D
