ZT 0562

I have had my elmax 0562 for about 2 years now (great knife) but when the blade drops closed I can hear a squeaking sound. As I got more and more ZT's and none of them has the same sound I opened up the 0562, cleaned it, lubed it and put it back together. I also put some oil in the detent hole and on the detent, but it's still there.. Now obviously it's not a big deal but it kind of bugs me now. Is there anything else I can do the eliminate that sound?

You may want to use a heavier oil to see if that helps.

My 0801 makes a squeak when I close it. I’m pretty sure it has to do with the detent ball riding across the blade.

My thought as well. I use 10w Nano on my pivots, but 85w on the detent ball/hole. 10w isn't viscous enough to stick around for long in that application.

I've not had this happen . I use 3M silicone/ teflon spray on everything that might make noise , stick , or rust .

Mine does that too. I agree that it seems to be the detent ball. Maybe a little graphite might help?

Thanks for responses. I also think it's the detent ball. I will experiment with a couple different oils and lubricants
