ZT 0562ti clip issue/question

Hey everyone hope your day is going well. So I have a new in box ZT 0562 ti. The pocket clip is held in by one screw to the loop over deep carry design.

The problem I have is the clip slides back and forth no matter how much I tighten it….and I don’t want to over tighten it and strip it out.

Has anyone had this problem? ZT even sent me a new clip. Same thing. Is it just the design? I do have a Pops clip coming for it and will try that. I just don’t like having a clip that wiggles like that. And I don’t know if there is anything I can do to make it not move around. Any ideas?

And thanks!

I looked at a couple of photographs of your knife, I don't like the way that clip looks either. It looks like it only got one screw and that's just the way it is. I don't like it. Can't think of a fix neither. Edit for the price you paid for that blade ZT should have done better on a clip.

The clip is fine…IF…it didn’t move around. Not a fan of that

Whatever you do don't bear down on that screw too hard. It will snap off. Then you're screwed no pun intended. You might be better off to send it back to Oregon where it came from and see if they can tighten it up somehow. It's got a guarantee, that's probably what I would do.

Looking at mine: the clip fits tightly into the milled-out slot on the inside of the slab. Is yours oversized or wallowed out somehow?

I looked at that on mine. The clip sits in that slot but I wouldn’t call it snug as in it slips right in the slot. I know it’s not the clip because I got another from ZT. Unless the milling in the titanium for the clip is not to tolerance. (So much for Zero Tolerance eh?….couldn’t resist). So I don’t know.

I think I’ll get my calipers and measure each side of the scale for that slot. I have a Pops clip coming and if that doesn’t fix it it’s going back to ZT because I get there can be some movement and that design but not 3-4mm worth.

I may get a video. I think some folks think I’m being OCD (as I got flames in FB for asking this very question in a ZT group) but I have owned a ridiculous amount knives and never had a clip move like this unless it was busted or something was out of spec.

I even added MXG titanium parts. Same thing. I don’t think it’s the clip or the hardware. I think the clip slot in the titanium is not in spec. That’s my suspicion.

Not necessarily suggesting you do this, but I have fixed similar issues with a trace of blue loctite between clip and mating surface.

I’m may have to try. I mean it will come off. I’m waiting on the new clip to try and I’ll see how that goes.
