Hi. I am interested in buying this knife. Few questions about it though.

Stonewashed or black? Which do you prefer and why? Any cutting advantages?

Carbon Fiber or G10? Which is the better handle material? Carbon Fiber is about $20 more expensive.

Thanks

The ZT Elmax steel is a very good steel, holds a good edge, not difficult to maintain/sharpen. As far as blade finish goes, stonewash will blend in wear better, black will show the use of the blade and give it personality. The black coating does hold up good. I've got several other knives that are black and I think the wear makes them look better. G10 is a better grip, carbon fiber is smoother in feel. Both are good strong materials that will last without issues. Of course there is down sides to both handle materials as well, G10 will get dirty looking quicker than carbon fiber. I've had carbon fiber knives to slip out of my hand. I however do love some carbon fiber.
I do not have the ZT566, I have the ZT 0562CF and love it. I've got a ZT0777 with the aluminum frame that is assisted open and love it. I have several 550/560's and don't have issues deploying the non assisted blades. The 560/0562 are outstanding flippers.
I think you'll be happy with whatever combo you choose.

I vote stonewashed, G10 for all around EDC.

I second this. Stonewashed will show less wear. I am not quite sure on this but I believe G10 will stand up better to wear. Also the weight difference is negligible.

Stonewashed/G10 in my pocket right now on the way to the zoo.

I edc a stonewashed g10 0566 and love it. I love that it doesn't show wear like my last edc with DLC coating, but I do like the blackwashed finish as well. I think at that point it's a matter of price and personal preference.

Get the limited edition Flat Dark Earth 0566! The blackwash blade hides any and all wear and ZT does Elmax right!

Blackwash will be better to hide the use. Got a blackwash 560 and stone wash 566. I dont like black coating cause when you hard use it it cause scratch.

I have both stonewashed and blackwashed... love 'em equally!

If you plan to edc/hard use your knife, I would go with g10....as much as I love carbon fibre on the Zt, it is very slick and prone to slipping
