I wondering if anyone else kind of left emerson made knives in favor of an emerson design made by zt.
I had 13 or so emerson made knives and sold them all off except for my first one I ever had.
Im not bashing emerson made knives what so ever so please no emerson bashing if you reply to this thread.
The more and more time I spend with my 0620 the harder it becomes to to justify buying an emerson. The ZT is smoother, has better handle materials and blade steel.
The zt is also half the price. I know zt has done a lot of collaborations with various people but dont think think they out shined one as much as they did emerson.
I wish emerson would offer something better and keep up with the times without having to get a "custom"

no, kept my dozen plus or so emersons. i own all the zts as well in various steels and scale setups and many other kershaw emersons. zts are great but i still like emersons for what they are. mine havent been disappointing to me.

i will say this about emersons. the pricing is all wrong. should be 100 bucks cheaper.

I've tried a couple Emersons years ago. They were just eh.

But I do like the ZT 0620 CF very much. The action , materials and quality are significantly better imo. Still hate the wave though.

Yes sir, I agree 100 percent. If the priced them for what they are I would dive back in and buy a few to replentish the ones i sold off.

I must admit i love the wave feature.
It is in my opinion the easiest and fastest one hand depolyment method; from pocket to action.

To each his own. It just seems very gimmicky to me.

But if you're going into a knife fight everyday and need a super speedy way to open your knife then perhaps the wave is a good option:)

I like to use the wave just for opening the knife one handed. Also having it is no detriment, it doesn't hurt anything. Just consider it a tiny blade catcher guard like it was originally intended to be. I think it is a total stroke of genius.

Also the wave on my Spyderco Endura and Delica make a mean bottle opener.

I want nothing but my waved emerson when i get home from petco with my 2 bags of dog food.
I will fight them 'till the end with my wave:D

That's some tough talk. But would you be so tough if those bags of dog food were right here listening? I didn't think so :)

Would never buy an Emerson, but I'd sure try a ZT if they weren't so dang big and heavy.

I was stuck on my 0620cf for almost 2 years I think. I also had the regular 0620 and 0630 as well as the 0630cf. I started making my own waves and drifting away from framelocks although I still have my waved 0804cf. I really wanted to like emersons but:
A) Could never warm up to liner locks on a heavy use knife
B) Put off by Ernest Emersons ego the size Jupiter
C) As said by others, I find them over priced for what you get.

Loved my ZT made Emerson designs though.

Emersons are way over-priced for the quality and materials you get. I have about a half dozen of them including two from 2006 which needed new liners since they went to 100%+.

The Emerson titanium liner locks are way too sticky.

ZT Emersons are great in every way but way too heavy.

My best Emerson Wave folders are made by Fox of Italy (licensing fee paid) with steel liner locks.
