Been wanting one of these since they first came out. I have an Emerson CQC8 and love the blade shape and the feel. The steel? Not so much. Also it's not very smooth despite taking it apart and cleaning and lubing. Sooooo since the ZT has been disco'd it's now or never. Pulled the trigger last night and Kershawguy as usual has it in the mail today. Should be here Thursday or Friday! Always makes for a good week knowing a new knife is on it's way.

Loved the 630, by far one of the best PB washer knives I ever had (Benchmade, ZT, CRK, Hinderer w/PB washers).

It arrived today and it is one sweet blade! Only problem I have is when I try to open it with then thub disk my fingers press down on the lock bar making it almost impossible to overcome the detent. Tore the skin under my thumb nail. Any ideas on overcoming that? Waving works better on this knife than my Emerson's or Spyderco. Despite detent issue I'm loving this knife. The workmanship is flawless. This knife is going to see a lot of pocket time!

Congratulations on your new ZT. I've got a 0630 on the way also.

In regards to your issue with putting pressure on the lock bar while opening the knife, I had the same problem when I first got my 0550.

I found that if I used my middle finger to push a bit on the opposite side stud, at the same time as I was pushing with my thumb, it helped to overcome the detention and also stopped me from pressing on the lock bar.

I open my ZT0620 with a slight thumb push and a slight wrist flick. It opens easily every time.

Definitely some other threads on this.

My 2cents:
- A little technique goes a long way.
- Break-in period applies.

I had the 620. Loved it but i had to install a small plastic shim with moulding tape in the lockbar cutout because the pant material jammed up in there when trying to use the wave.

So if you expiriance anything like that you can try the same: fill the cutout and pant material will not jam up.

Ive got my eye on the 630 sprint run, but i want a black scale instead of the orange. I saw someone on here got a Punisher scalw made. Looked really good.

I also had the same problem with my fingers pushing the lockbar. What fixed it for me was using both my thumb and index fingers at the same time, this got my finger pressure off the lockbar, and it would open like an auto.

Just make sure that you aren't putting any pressure on the lockbar when opening and it will open fine.
