I've been buying a few knives lately. Mostly smallish ones for edc. But now I'm deciding between a couple of mid-sized knives with tanto "style" blades : the ZT 0700 and the Spyderco Yojimbo 2.

They both look great and seem to be very nice knives. I very much like both ZT and Spyderco and I have a few of each brand in my collection. The prices of the 0770 and Yo2 are almost identical. Gonna be a tough call. I don't think I could go wrong with either one.

Just wondering what you guys think of each of these knives. So let's hear it ,,,

The Yojimbo is actually a Wharncliffe style blade. I would go with that one though, its a fun little knife!

I don't know where you planned to buy at but if you go to BladeHQ you can get the 0700BLK for $99.95, and if you add a 25 cent sticker it gets you over the $99 mark so you get free shipping.

I'd also go with the Yojimbo 2 because of the Wharncliffe blade. Optimized for slashing and can still poke deep enough to reach organs.

I've had my Yojimbo 2 for a while now and it's a really awesome knife. I bought my dad an 0700 for Christmas and he takes it to work with him and it's his favorite knife. The answer here is get both you know you'll eventually have both anyway. Start with the 0700 because I don't believe Yojimbo 2's are in stock anywhere unless you can find one on the forum.

I really like the hollow grind on the Yo2, and the overall bladeshape. The 0700 is a bit too blocky for me, but the handle is comfy.

I would get the Yo2 mostly for the wharncliffe blade, comp lock, and good ergos. However they are not often in stock.

I was in the same predicament as you a couple of months back. I was able to find a yojimbo 2 for 80 bucks. Jumped at it and have been very satisified as it is now my EDC. Of course what it kicked out of my pocket was a little odd for EDC (cold steel recon 1)

I own both and carry the ZT for utility use and the YoJimbo 2 for self defense.
