ZT 0770, threads in backspacer stripped. What to do?

Today I got a used ZT 0770 CF. I noticed that one of the handles screws were loose, and found out that the threads in the backspacer had been stripped. This only affects one screw.

Now what?

I live in Europe and had it sent to me from the US, so sending it back to the seller or ZT would be a bit troublesome. I'd like to fix this without sending the knife across the ocean.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should do now?

Is the backspace supposed to be threaded? I thought only the other side of the handle was threaded.

I'd call ZT and explain your issues and see if I could get them to send me a new backspacer. I would tell them I was disassembling the knife to remove the torsion bar.

Call zt, I also think they would send you a back spacer and some screws....can you get the stripped one out?

I'm working this out with the seller. Changing the backspacer for a new one should be simple enough.

I had this on a ZT 0350. The handle screws wouldn't stay right and the pivot screw was too deep on the G10. They ended up charging me $30 for new scales :-(

I think they should be able to ship you some screws and a new backspacer. I would recommend calling over emailing though.

Cool that its getting worked out. It is a great blade!
