Just got my second knife in mail a ZT 0770cf and I like flippers. So should I attempt to deassist the knife? Will it be smooth? And most importantly will it void the warranty? Lastly any videos or guides on how to do it if I should?

Thanks for your help this forums is awesome and has helped me a lot!

Will it be smooth? Maybe, maybe not.

I don't know about the warranty.

It's super simple. Open the knife first to take the pressure out of the torsion bar. Just remove the pivot and handle screws on the side were the blade has the ZT logo. Remove the scale and the take out the torsion bar. Assemble the knife and see how it works.

Edited: This is just speculation on my part, but letting it wear in might make it smoother. A good lubricant should also help, but I don't know of any.

Make sure you don't loose the stop pin, it might drop out when you remove the scale.

It should be easy to assemble it again, but if you have any trouble getting it back together just ask for advice.

Be careful when tightening the handle screws to the backspacer, the threads in the backspacer might get stipped.

It doesn't void the warranty. It might not be completely smooth right away, but as you flip it it will smooth out over time
