ZT 0770cf reassembly problems

So, I had my 0770cf while I was surf fishing and of course I got some salt/sand in it. This is the first knife I've ever disassembled but I'm pretty handy mechanically so I figured it wouldn't be a problem. I completely disassemble it, cleaned everything and put it back together, But then I realized that 1) when I tightened the axis screw enough that there was no blade play, the blade was very tight to open and close. And 2) the blade was way off center. Looking at it with the blade closed from the tip end, the blade is far to the right scale.
The mechanics and parts are simple enough unless I have a part missing that I'm not aware of, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case. There is only the spring assist on one side, the liner lock on the other, blade and 2 washers. The washers are different sizes but it appears the small one has to go on the assist side b/c the larger one would interfere with the spring. All parts seem to fit nicely together so I can't figure out what would be causing these problems.
I was going to call ZT but I thought I would ask for suggestions here first.

Thanks for any advice,

Just saw your post. You sound like you know what you are doing. From what you mentioned it might be best to get in touch with ZT, I have the same knife and have taken it apart for cleaning & lube. Have not had your issue. Good luck. Let me know how you make out.

Thanks for your reply. I did contact ZT and they were very helpful. They sent me instructions on how to make the necessary adjustments and said they would be happy to fix the issues for free if I decided to send it back to them. My schedule hasn't allowed me to try work on it yet but I'm confident that I'll either be able to fix it or ZT will. I'll follow up with the results.
