I am 73 yrs old and seem to have gotten arthritis in both my hands. Having trouble closing them. Has anyone used emery paper (wet/dry sandpaper) to improve the grip? Another alternative might be to drill some holes in the carbon fiber. This would be my last choice. Also don't want to add any skateboard tape to the scales.
Thanks,
Ron

I would recommend drilling a couple holes in the scale but isn’t that knife spring assisted. The holes might interfere with the torsion bar if I’m correct

Yes it is spring assisted. I would have to use care if I went this route. Thanks for your reply.

Be careful doing anything with carbon fiber as the dust is nasty stuff.

The carbon fiber is 1/8” (.125) thick. The wall thickness where it is milled out for the spring assist is only .087 thick and covered quite a large area on the inside of the scales. For this reason I used 250 grit emory. It did make a difference in the surface which made it not as slippery. The carbon fiber still looks good, but with a slightly less of a shine. If you didn’t see the shine before I started you would think this is normal for carbon fiber and this knife. Thanks for all your input.
Pleased with the results so far.
