I have been eyeing both of these and can’t decide which way to go. Anyone own both and have a strong opinion towards one or the other? Also it’d be awesome if anyone had photos of the two together.

Thanks

I own both, an 0804 in CT’s-204p (newer ones come with 20CV) and a 0220 (s35). If they were both made of the same steel I might not have a preference, I like them both. The 804 feels lighter and more exotic with the carbon fiber, dlc blade and unique pocket clip. The 0220 is great too tho, I personally like the recurve blade, the orange backspacer (newer versions are black I think) and the deep-carry clip, although it’s all a matter of opinion. Both are great knives, both have a nice strong detent and are comfortable to hold. If the steel upgrade isn’t very important to you, just get the one you think looks better. FWIW my 0804 is a safe-queen but every time I take it out, hold it, flip it I don’t regret spending $280 on it. So, I guess I’d say 0804 when it comes down to it

I love both of these knives, but they are quite different, other than being the same general size.

The 804CF is refined, with fairly aggressive geometry. It weighs 5 ounces.

The 220 is more robust, all metal with a thicker, heavier blade. It weighs 6.2 ounces.

Both flip like a dream.

I don't think you can go wrong with either knife, but they are different.

I'd go with the 0220. It's very underrated. Heavy but sleek and super great flipping action.

I hate that you can only get the 0804 in the all blacked out finish. So, so stupid. I'd definitely try it if it was just offered in a decent stonewashed finish.

Seconded.

I do not buy folders with coated blades. Not even partially coated.

I love Rexford’s designs. If the 0808 had .12” stock, I would own one or two by now. If the 0804 had a stonewash or satin blade, I’d have one.

So many near misses.

I agree with the above two posters about 0804. One scratch then it is ruined in terms of resale value and looking. A stonewashed blade and stonewashed lockside scale would make it a much more desirable folder.

Never owned a 0220. It looks like a great knife although it is on the heavy side given its size.

I owned both, still own two 0804cf's and no 0220. The 0220 was a big clunky knife IMO. I didn't like the recurve or the ergos.

The 0804cf is just great all around after replacing the milled clip with a deep carry clip. Hands down the choice for me.

I personally like the way DLC wears.

I love my 0804 but I don't care for the milled clip either. Did you buy that clip direct from ZT? If so do you remember the part or model number?

Unfortunately, it's the clip from the discontinued 0560BW. PM me if you're looking for other options I might have some ideas.
