Zt 0808 backspacer replacement?

Hey guys so I just acquired an zt 0808 and love the knife and the looks and would love to use it as my main edc however may be a little to heavy

So I was wandering if anyone has tried the custom backspacer standoffs that blue4you2010 on eBay sales and if so how did you like them centering.. Ect? Link to the standoffs [Read the rules, We don't do live eBay links.]

Isn't the backspacer in the 0808 titanium?

Switching to standoffs will save, what, a few grams at most?

Agreed.

To really lighten ZT 0808 you'd have to skeletonize the titanium and/or change the presentation side from TI to CF.
 
Tbh the titanium back spacer on the 808 is gorgeous! Taking that out and replacing them with Standoff???

Yes, it is titanium. Aside from the cosmetic, standoffs won't make a noticeable difference in weight. The 0808 is perfect, except from the pocket clip. It rides in the pocket much better with the deep carry pocket clip from the 0560.

Yeah I do think the 0808 backspacer is very nice but for me I wear scrubs every day and it may get a little heavy in those.. Ha just looking at that thick titanium backspacer made me wander if standoffs (kinda like the on the 0450) would save in weight and put the balance of the knife more toward the pivot and less so towards the butt of the knife!? Without compromising the strength of the knife

I don't really mind the clip I actually prefer a clip that is not deep Carry.. IMHO

So I decided to order some and I must say they are pretty great quality and appear to have pretty good tolerances.. Knife seems to be a little more balanced

If weight is an issue get the 0450 since its lighter and if u want under even lighter there is a guy on eBay that sells a full cf replacement scale for the 0450.

Ha funny thing I traded the 0450 for the 0808 I like the design and the blade shape of the 0808 a little better it was just a little bit heavy with that large chunk of titanium at the butt i will say it did shave some weight off its close to the same weight as my Gemini now!

Then what you need is a Benchmade 940-1. Much, much lighter than the 0808, with s90v!
