ZT 0808 versus 0801

I've had a ZT 0801 and it had the best flipping action I've encountered. I ultimately got rid of it because it was too much of a pocket brick. Now, however, I'm liking the looks, and specs, of the 0808. How does it compare to the 0801, especially the flipping? Thanks.

I purposely did NOT buy the 0801. I've had a lot of ZT's, and as you've said...many are pocket bricks. I use my folders very casually and don't need heavy-duty knives.
The ZT 0801 weighs 5.8 ounces; the ZT 0808 weighs 4.3 ounces.
In terms of closed lengths, the 0801 is slightly longer at 4.7" compared to the 0808 at 4.4". I have a rather large hand, and the 0808 fits my hand just fine.
I've owned quite a few flippers, both manual and assisted. I like the manual flipping action of the 0808 very much, and consider it excellent. I could not ask for it to be "better."
I have stopped buying folders that weigh more than five ounces. Both the large Sebenza and the Umnumzaan are both five ounces or less, and their reputation is well-known.

The 808 is really nice, but the backspacer on it is the worst design I have seen. It is a thick solid slab of metal, and adds like a third the weight of the knife. Barrel spacers would probably keep the knife under 3 ounces.

The best construction is in 0900. Just one barrel spacer works fine and knife lenght is very similar.

The 0808 is quite a bit smaller than the 0801. I actually found the flipping action on my 0808 to be snappier than my various 0801's. I also find the Wharncliffe/sheepsfoot/reverse tanto style blades fit my EDC uses a bit better.

Here are some side-by-sides of the two...

I want to like the 0900, but just can't. It's similar to George's ESV (which I like), but I don't like the changes. The blade/handle ratio looks wrong and I don't like the contours of the handle.
