I got the fever for one of the ZT knives, and was wondering which model you would get? I have owned the 200 model and liked it. Would the 302 be better?

Better is very subjective!

The 030x has a deeper blade than the 0200, and is SpeedSafe assisted. Personally, I like the 0200 over the 030x series.

That said, if I were to buy a new ZT today, it would be the MUDD!

0200 definitely the better bang for the buck. They're both built like tanks, but you'll be paying more for the Ti & S30V & the AO in the 301.Plus the 301's gotta framelock, but the liner lock in the 0200 is the strongest I've ever encountered. The ergos on the 0200 are simply amazing!

My one & only problem with both are they are big knives & may not travel that comfortably.

The ZT 0300 series is a beast! Get one if you can. All ZTs are solid top quality knives though, you can't go wrong with any...

I own two 0300's, one 0302 and a 0200.

I consider the 0300 series knife as one of the best value knives today.

Choosing between the 0200 and 0300 is all about preference to me.

0200:

Manual folder
Recurve blade
Lighter than the 0300
A bit narrower profile that the 0300 when deployed
Easier to clean than 0300's
Clip may be located at all four corners
154CM
Super smooth action
One handed closure is much easier than 0300's because of manul action
Liner lock
Can be bought for under $130

0300 Series

AO folder
Clip can be located at all four corners
Recurve blade but less recurve than the 0200
Amazing action - the AO is fast and the lock up is rock solid
Pocket footprint is not noticably different than 0200
Frame lock
Heavier that the 0200
A bit more difficult to clean due to the AO
One handed closure is difficult due to the blade's width and the AO torsion
S30V
Can be bought for around $200 if you shop well

I prefer the 0300's because of the AO but the 0200 is a great value for what you get. Both knives are service ready and very manly knives :D I carry my 0302 90% of the time

I prefer the 302 to the 200 any time. I would rather have the frame lock and the s30v blade. I don't like the feel of the 200 in my hand. The handle is just a little to tight for my hands.

You just missed a 0301 for $189 + shipping Buy It Now on eBay last week.

To be honest, EVERYONE is raising their prices on these knives in the past month or two. They're very propular but not rare so the sellers are just riding the wave right now.

If you can't find anything much under the $236 price check out Kevin at www.timberwolfoutdoorproducts.com

He's out of Oregon and his eBay sales are advertising $236 Buy It Now with free USPS Priority Mail ($7 value) and a free ZT T-shirt (a $20 value or so)

I bought my ZT 0302 and one of my 0300's from him and he's a stand up guy.

He too has been one of those raising his prices though. Like $20 - $25 bucks in the past two months because everyone else has too.

They were all over the place for about $200 back then. Now the going rate is just under $240.

Still WAY worth the money.

Tell Kevin you want free shipping and a free T-shirt and that's still a good
deal. And tell him Rick Richardson from Reno, Nevada sent you if you do ;)

Hell I paid for both my ZT T-Shirts GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Get the 0200 or the 302?

The answer is "yes". Zero Tolerance is one of the best collaborations ever.

I want the 0300 in Digital Camo version so bad!

Any ZT is a good knife but their flagship is the 0300 series hands down.

Thanking about trading my small wood sebenza for a 302 and a 200, if somebody want a sebbie!

Why?

Thanks!

Andy

I can't answer for SPXtrader but the MUDD knife is an excellent design IMO. Feels great in hand, is ZT tough, interesting lock mechanism and you don't have to worry about getting gunk in the pivot area. It's uber low maintanence.

Thanks! Thinking about picking up a tough utility folder, and that one seems to have a lot going for it. Does it come in a plain blade? No coating?

They do come in PE, but I think they all have coating. I've played with them a few times. They're great knives.

Hey Andy! The MUDD is an incredible knife for the money. There's a review thread here that will give you some idea of its versatility and toughness.

Great knife!

SPX tells no lies! I've had 2 of the MUDDs, and only sold them as an unfortunate occurance came up that necessatated selling them. Now that I'm getting back on my feet, the ZT0500 and the ZT0200 are going to be my next 2 knife purchases, hopefully both of them at the end of the month!!
