Does it have a ball detent?

No. The spring action of the Speedsafe is what holds the blade in the shut position.

I was never a huge fan of the Skirmish.. until I saw that, that, that thing at the top of that thread. Gack! Now the stock Skirmish seems beautiful beyond belief. Please tell me you're not going todo that to a ZT?!
