ZT 300 series lock bar question?

Hello everyone,
I recently noticed at the ZT site that the machining on the lock bar relief cut is different on the 0300 than on the 0301.
Is one just a newer photo or are they actually different?

I'm asking because I'm considering a 0300 series purchase and I prefer the machining shown on the 0300 but would prefer the 0301 for the green G10.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Looks like laser cut vs milled. I would bet that there are a mix of each type of lockbar for each model.

The 0550's have some with milled lockbars and some with laser cut lockbars and I bet that holds true for the 0301 and 0300.

My 300 looks just like the 301 does there, and it was made in 2012.

No any difference in models, the only difference - is date of birth =)
Earlier models are made in such way as on bottom pic shown. Also such models usually got stamp "zero tolerance" on lock stabilizer (this one, on the pic, hadn't got it though - as all new models).
Later models got thin frame cut (like new 0550 and 0560) and some other framelock cutout. I've got 0302 like on bottom pic (its serial 1373), and 0301 (its serial 3267) like on upper pic. 0302 is discontinued, but i believe 0301 of new stock will be with such frame like you want.

Very well put! Just depends on when it was made. They change things as they go, improving and making ease of manufacturing.

You know...if you get your 030X from Dave (kershawguy), he may check out the knives and send you one that's closest to your liking...if you ask nicely that is. :D

I have a ZT 0301, one of my favorite knives in the world. It has the machining on the lock bar that the ZT 0300 does in the pictures you provided. These pictures might be from different years, but there is no reason for ZT to change the lockbar design because of the color of the scale.

I think the picture of the ZT 0301 that you provided is a few years old, and the 0300 is more updated.

They didn't change the lock bar cut out because of the color of the scale. They did because sometimes as time passes, new procedures come along, minor changes need to be addressed or new machines (technology) come available making things stronger while lightening the overall weight and longevity of the lock etc... They even changed a few models because of people complaining about the detent. This is manufacturing these days.

Same goes with a car it gets minor updates as every year passes and new tech's become available.

Those pics are from different years of manufacturing. Typically the stabilizer on the older models will have lettering stamped on it and the newer ones do not for another difference.

Thanks for the replies. I had a feeling that one picture was current and one wasn't, rather than a variation between models.
The top picture was the most similar to the 0550 (current) and 0560 so I was guessing it was the most recent of the two.
Thanks to everyone who responded so I could confirm this.
