I am thinking of buying a zt-301 or a offset.
What would be a better choice for sd and light use.
I say light use because I don't want to wreck it and
they both are hard to sharpen because of the blade shape.
It would be mostly a pocket pal for me with sd in mind if I
have to reach for it.I am leaning towards zt-301 because of the
steel s30v.Offset uses mim 440c I don't know much about the prosses
I just need a push in the right direction.:D:D:confused:

thx gine

I would go for the 301. That's a very easy blade to keep sharp, using a Spyderco Sharpmaker, or one of the "V" sharpeners with the round ceramic rods...The Offset looks like it might be just alittle bit more complicated to sharpen.

Also, I'd opt for the ZT 0301, as I just like the toughness of those ZT folders.

The ZT is definitely one solid, mean looking knife. If intimidation factor is important to you though, the G10 Offset brings it to a whole other level, there's just nothing else out there like it.

Clipped to your pocket, the ZT is much lower key. It has a very short matte black clip, versus the Offset's very large, showy clip.

Because of the stud lock, the Offset is easier to close with either hand.

The ZT is drilled and tapped for left, right, tip-up, and tip-down carry. The Offset's clip is one position only.

I can't link to it right now, but if you search this forum you will find a pretty extensive thread about the Offset's MIM process.

The ZT might be the more practical of the two knives.
They are both great knives, don't be too surprised if you eventuallyend up with both.

I believe the ZT would be more practical also. I also think I would be more prone to trust the framelock of the ZT0301 over the stud lock of the Offset.

the Offset is a big monster knife with a blade that screams sharp!. i would go with the Offset, but then again I'm biased :D

either way you are good with both
