Anyone been carrying a ZT 0450cf for edc ? If so how has your experience been. I carry a skyline most of the time, also have used a ZT 0350 in the past and liked them . Tried a manix 2 lightweight , but it felt a little wide in my pocket. This knife was not on my radar until I walked into a local knife shop and held one of these in my hand. Most of the time I am not a fan of DLC coated blades or carbon fiber scales , I like the gripper feel of G-10 I work in a steel plant and use a knife many times a day for cutting cardboard , plastic banding etc.. Do you think this knife will hold up for hard use? Also do you think the carbon fiber has enough grip ? If it was a in G-10 I would have bought the knife on the spot. I guess I did not know how small and light this knife feels until I handled it some. It seems kind of pricey for a knife of this size . Is it worth it , or should I go in a different direction.

Buy one and see if you like it, and if you don't, post it for sale here and I'll take it

I have a ZT0450 with an after market carbon fiber scale and I love it. I prefer it to the DLC coated blade of the 0450CF. I think it makes an incredible EDC knife, especially if you're in an office/dress slacks or suit environment. The only criticisms I can find is that the gimping is on the wrong part of the blade and the handle is so slender, some people have a hard time gripping it without putting pressure on the lock bar.

Now, in your particular application, there might be some problems. If you're a heavy knife user, the handle might not supply enough substance to prevent fatigue over the course of a work day. The S35VN steel should be fine for edge retention, however. You'll need to be the judge as to whether it fits in your hand for extended tasks. If you want something similar in size but with a better grip, check out the ZT0808. It's a sweet, little knife too. Another compact knife that's a little beefier than most is the DPX HEST. If you had trouble with the "pocket fat" of a Manix, you'll probably have the same issue with most other Spydercos...although Spydies have some of the best in-hand ergos of any knife.

My 0450CF has been one of my most frequent carries since I got it (and the original 0450 before that). Most of my use is relatively light (opening packages, cutting boxes down to smaller pieces, cutting zip ties and plastic straps, etc.), and it's held up great for that. If I were doing a lot of cutting on a regular basis, I'd prefer something with a wider and thicker handle, just to help relieve fatigue. The 0301 (obviously a much larger knife) is probably still my all-time favorite for that use, as that one just fits my hand so well.

It is so nearly perfect for me that I have two. I've set them up with different pocket clips and different color standoffs ("borrowed" a red set from a standard 0450). Also bought one for my son.

I have a regular titanium 0450, and I love it as an EDC. I typically do not do heavy tasks, but I think it works fine as basic pocket knife.

Another great thing about the 0450 is that the deep carry pocket clip from the 0560 fits. That makes the knife even more office friendly IMO.
