I have a Cryo 2 that I really like and have been looking at some ZT models. How different is the Cryo 2 vs the ZT 560. Is the fit and finish that much better on the ZT?

Cryo's are solid, but it comes down to nicer and more expensive materials. If you don't have a Ti Framelock I would think of the 560 as a big upgrade. You go from solid budget blade to really nice but big edc.

Pretty much night and day.
The 0560 is not assisted, it pivots on ball bearings. It's made with way better materials.

Having owned both, I can say, the 0560 is in a totally different league. Buy one and you tell me what you think, how it stacks up to the Cryo II...

Yep. Night & day. 3-D machined G10 and titanium handles... more refined fit & finish... manual flipper on bearings vs. assisted-opener... The 0566 is a bit closer in size to the Cryo 2. The 0560 is significantly larger.

Here are a couple of shots of the KAI-Hinderer collaboration pieces I have for some size comparisons...

The Cryo is very high quality for its price - emphasis on those last three words. The 0560 is also very high quality for its price. I would say the dollar-to-quality ratio is consistent between the two, meaning the 0560 represents one of the best deals in the price range (especially if you shop around and get one for under $160).

I would say it's not only a substantial improvement in quality and materials, but an exceptional knife in all aspects. I have owned a 0560, 0560BW, two 0561s, and two 0560CBCFs, and none have had any issues except for the very first 0560 which was part of the somewhat problem-laden first 400 produced. Every other iteration of the kjife I have held had been produced later and had been flawless. I only don't own one currently because I sold everything prior to moving.

* emphasis on big meaning potentially too big to edc is what alot of ppl say. Kizer makes quite a few nice Ti Framelocks for about $100 btw and potentially are more normal sized.

More normal sized? What does that mean? Wouldnt it be dependent on the person anyway?

As for the O.P. yes i would say its a substantial upgrade. Maybe look in the exchange for one at a discounted price if you are unsure.

The blade steel is a huge upgrade all by itself. Going Cryo to 0560 is an improvement of performance and style. Having said that, I prefer the 0566, 0550, and probably 0562.

The photo comparison was great to show the tremendous SIZE difference between the two knives!

I agree the Cryo is nice for the money, and I have one. But the scales are too slick - it's hard to hold on to the darn thing, even when it's dry.

Not really. If you look at the few criticisms of the 560 but often cited. Being too big is one the primary drawbacks to many about the 560 and/or why it doesn't get edc'ed. I was just pointing it out as its not a fair comparison when it comes to size when the Cryo 2 is on the other side of it. A 566 is closer to the Cryo 2.

If anyone says its too big or too heavy they are sissies.

Compared to the Cryo, the ZT is a huge upgrade and a wonderful knife.
