I just got my 0561 back from warenty work for sticky lock and weak detent. The knife is now perfect and the customer service was great. However, the knife blade is now completely void of any laser markings on both sides. The knife had all the marking on both sids when I sent it in; zt logo, ELMAX, Hinderer design, ect... Has anyone else had this experience? Did they just forget to laser mark the new blade? Its kinda cool with out the logo more like an xm18 or 24. I would like the serial number back.

I got mine back with all markings. Makes me wonder if they replaced the blade. I put that mine was sentimental though because I worked hard to get that particular serial number.

It's fairly standard when they replace a blade it usually has no markings.

I think it's pretty cool. Gives the illusion of "non-production", even though there's nothing wrong with that either :p

But in the unlikely event that your ZT has suffered some accidental damage, we're happy to let you know that we can replace your blade for you and return it in good working order for just $30. This is good on Zero Tolerance folding knives.

Simply send your knife in to us according to warranty instructions. We'll replace the blade for you, spruce up your knife, and return it to you. These replacement blades will have no laser engraving or markings on them (that's one of the ways we keep the cost so low for this program). Nevertheless, they will be the same steel and sharpness of your original ZT.
They fixed your knife for you by replacing the blade, didn't charge you the 30 bucks 'cause it was a warranty repair, I guess.

what others have said , your blade was the problem, I was going to have a ZT rebladed because of my goof up on the edge pro they said it would cost 30 bucks and the blade would be sterile, you just go it for free since it was a warranty issue, I agree that it would look pretty cool, can you post some pics???

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but, I have superstition about the number 6 (repeating). Call me silly, because I know I am:) However my 0550 is ser. 2666.. YIKES. Would I have to send the knife in for a reblade or will they send one out. I assume it needs to be sent in for fitting, correct?

I wonder if greeenie would be interested, he likes the repeating 6

Um...I'm pretty sure their warranty doesn't cover imaginary issues that literally have no effect on the knife. They also don't send out blades. If your blade is broken, they will replace it however.

As for the OP, whenever they replace a blade it's usually blank. I had one Skyline blade replaced once, and it had the standard markings but that was a rare occasion. Blanks are more so required for ZTs as they are serialized and can't replicate a number or serialize a blade that isn't part of a knife.

.

Clearly I understand that. I wasn't talking about warranty work...I was talking about paying $30.00 for a new blade. Forget I even said anything about my stupid superstition. What if I just wanted a sterile blade? Could I send my knife in (not broken) and get a new sterile blade??
