I'm having the hardest time disengaging the lock bar on this frame lock. I wearing my thumb raw disengaging it. I understand the stiff detent and hard deployent and I assume that it will get smoother and easier as it breaks in as it did with my ZT551, but this is the stiffest frame lock I've ever encountered.

Does anyone else have the same issue, or am I just lacking in the strength department?

I had the same problem with my 0560 when it was new. I flipped it every chance I had and after a week its 100% better. It may take a bit, but you'll get there.

Yeah, those 560s and 561s can be very darn tough, but it does just take time and use. I've heard that applying pencil lead can help out with that, maybe someone can confirm or deny it.

That woul be used for a sticky lock bar not one the is stiff.

Try switching your clip to tip-down for a while. Gives your fingers a place to rest and keeps them from applying any pressure to the lock bar. Made a big difference for me

Mine took about 4 days on incessant flipping to loosen up. Now its just fun to flip and I can't stop... Apparently the sound is audible through out the house and the wife confiscated my knife tonight because she got sick of the
clicking. I absolutely love this knife though!

...have the 560 and it was sticking a bit a first, but after a couple applications of pencil lead and more in the near future- that's getting resolved.

Yeah, the lock bar is a tad bit stiff- just some getting use to I suppose, give it time. Just keep using it.

Don't recall the 0551 being so stiff, then again, thumbs were more comfortable with the thicker lock-bar and smoothed out contact points (jimping).

i have had the same problem with mine. i put a sharpie pen mark on blade where the titanium lock joins. The only thing i can tell you is get ready for blisters for opening at least 100 times til it is good. I love my 561 and wouldnt trade it for nothing. i got mine for 162.5, which is dealer price but i think it is worth 500
