ZT 562 pivot?

I finally broke down and got a 562. Didn't have the patience to wait on the cf version. The question I have is in regards to the pivot hardware. I am planning on getting a micarta scale for the knife and I am not too fond of the shiny pivot screw. It just looks out of place with the other screws and clip being black. Is the pivot the same as that on the 801, which is black?

Thanks.

I cant say for sure but I think they would be the same. They look identical. And even though those are technically custom pivots it would make economical sense to make those universal fit. Also remember that if you wanted to dull the pivot that you all ready have you could dip it in some Ferric chloride from radio shack and it will darken it. You would just want to mask the threads on the actual screw and plug the pivot hole as well when doing the dip.

Yes the pivot is the same, I have converted my 562 too the black one. Some I have to assume all are the same as mine.
Edit: I was in my local sportsman warehouse today and they had the 562CF in stock, I was quit surprised.

I'm half way jealous. The SW stores by me don't get much movement in the knife case. This may or may not have to do with KSF being nearby. Still, I work within walking distance of an SW location.

Did you change both pieces together? Try changing the male/female from one to the other, that's what I did.

Edit: After typing the above, I opened my safe and tried the extra black set with my original silver set and both are interchangeable with the other?? So I'm not sure why yours will not work. Both the silver and black are both the same.

I requested a replacement pivot assembly for my 0801 because I stripped one of the heads. Upon receipt of the pivot I found that either there was more coating on the barrel or they uped the diameter because after putting in the new pivot he action was horrible. It went from the best flipping action I had ever experienced to unable to completely open. I was bummed but then I thought maybe I'll try putting it in my 0562 that was having problems with centering. Swapped it over and voila, the action was the same (if not better) and the blade was centered. Kind of serendipitous, trying to fix one knife, fixed the other. I'm still curious why my 801 wouldn't accept the replacement pivot. I do note that I could not screw the old male into the new female, or vice versa.

Edit: I forgot I had my 0562 set up with all black hardware except I left the male pivot screw silver and was going to mirror polish it to make it like a nice accent on an all black hardware knife. So it seems that the only incompatible combo was "old" 0801 pivot (sub 200 serial number) with any of the new pivot (0562 and the replacement 0801 pivot they sent me). I guess they did change the pivot in the 0801 at some point and carried it on through to the 0562.
