I think the 566 might be my new favorite knife (at least for a while). Very comfortable in hand, very nice flipper action, super sharp blade. Extremely well thought out and put together. If Benchmade sticks to its crazy MAP policy, I think it may be mostly ZT and Spyderco for me for a while.
The Otanashi seems nice too, but its usefulness seems pretty much limited to punching holes in things (like people). But I vacillate between a self-defense focus (luckily not needed to date) and survival-type focus (also not yet needed in any way). But a fun knife all the same. Lighter and easier to carry than I imagined.
And just a personal off-topic word: a couple years ago, I had a hissy fit over an infraction and swore off this site (I was being immature - but it was a bad time for me. Long story.). But I've found this site to be the best knife-knowledge site on the internet, and clearly the best for buying, selling and trading. So Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Knife Year!
