Is their something I can do to make this knife easlier to open? I loosen the pivot but this did not help. My 770CF is easy to open and about perfect. Would sanding down the detent ball help? I would like to keep this knife to go with my CF version, but man is this one hard to flip open.

Have looked at some of the YouTube vids that deal with opening issues with various ZT knives? I de-assisted mine the day they arrived. Not everyone wants to do that though.

Don't sand!!! It may be an issue of breaking in over time. I am sure others will jump in with their thoughts.

Adding a bit of jimping to the flipper might help.

Why would that help? (Serious question)
The problem, as I understand -and have experienced- it, isn't with with the flipper...it's the amount of pressure one must apply to the flipper to open the blade. If I'm missing something, please fill me in - I'm almost always willing to learn.

The detent on ZT knives seems to be all over the place. Sometimes they're weak, sometimes they're too stiff. Jimping just helps prevent your finger from slipping off the flipper. My ZT0808 was quite stiff but after I flipped it 2000 times it has weakend considerably and is now perfect, but I have adjusted the way I flip the flipper. Using your finger tip seems too awkward for me. Instead I use the side of my finger, just past the last joint. This reduces the effective lever length of your finger and provides more pressure to the flipper.

Don't do this.

Try this.

On my 770, my finger has a tendency to slip off the flipper quite a bit. The problem (for me) is that I have to use this flipper differently than all my other flippers. Mine doesn't have a strong detent at all, but it is still somewhat difficult to flip just because of the slippery flipper tab. I know that it would help me to have a little jimping on the flipper tab, so I assumed the same for others :)
