So im thinking about getting the 801 pretty soon and i was looking for a review, how does the blade fire compared to the 770 or 566, is it a slow deploying blade like the 566 or fast like the 770?

Depends on how good your technique is....there is a learning curve to flipping a manual knife...I got the 0801 after i already had a 0350 and a 0770....there really is no comparison...my 0801 if a much nicer flipping knife then either, not to mention the smoothness factor...took me a few hundred flips before I mastered it, I don't think you will be disappointed

I'm a Spyderco fan boy but...
I really like my 801, fires quick and solid, IMHO its a really nice knife.
I think I might have to check out a Domino now though..

oh my bad, i thought the 801 was assisted, it's a bearing system, its been a little bit since i've used a bearing flipper.

The other knives you mentioned are assisted flippers, the 0801 is a manual flipper with KAI's KVT's bearing system. This combined with jimping on the flipper lever allows you to flip it open with as much authority as you want depending on how much pressure or force you put on the lever.
Why more companies don't put jimping on the lever is beyond me, it's the only jimping on the 0801 and works very well for flipping but also gives you forward resistance to your hand when the blade is deployed.
The full titanium handles have more grip on the blackwash then you think it would. It fits my hand perfectly, the ergonomics are excellent.
I have bought and sold over 200 knives including Spyderco, CRK's, etc and after a couple of weeks I'm comfortable enough now saying this is the best knife I have ever owned. If I could only keep 1 knife this would be it.

looks like ill be jumping off the AO bandwagon and giving the bearings a shot ill buy one used to save money lol

I've go one with a strong detent and it opens as fast as my 0770. I had a second one and the detent wasn't as strong, but it still opened good.
