ZT Acid/ stone washing

Hi guys I am new here and this may be a dumb question to some of you. I am curious about the stonewashing finish that ZT is selling. Are they just stonewashing the DLC coating? I saw a video from rival custom knifeworks where he says he acid stonewashed a ZT 0200. I guess the real question is will the acid etch into stainless steel? I will post the video link below, if anyone knows what the process was that rival used I would be very interested to know.
