i have a frd who owns the 30X series and after a while the assisted opening bar started to develop some rattling sound when the blade is open.
i am planning to buy the 350 series which is also an assisted opener....does anybody have any experience with the model 350? does it develop rattling sound after a while too? if yes, are there any quick way to fix it?

thanks in advance!!

That's the torsion bar rattling when it isn't under tension. Not a problem, just has to do with the design. If you don't like it you can take the knife apart and add more grease to the cavity that holds the bar.

ya i know it will function perfectly...just that the rattling sound bug the crap out of me lol....happens to almost every kershaw assisted opener =/

Mine hasn't developed a rattle *knock on wood*, but I am expecting it to. Torsion bars wear out, things age with use, and yes I do own a ZT0350 and a ZT303.

EDIT:

Aha, I finally took apart my rattling Packrat. The slots & cavity for the torsion bar don't quite match up to what I expected. Idunno if I was thinking of a different SpeedSafe knife or a different brand altogether.

The grease thing is exactly right. Thanks guys.

The area where the bar rides is covered by the liner so the grease stays put.

Mine doesn't have this issue, it is only about 1 or so months old, but I've used it rather extensively for things you'd use an EDC knife for, but I've also done light prying and what not, had to take apart the knife to clean it but there's nothing going by the looks of it internally on mine.

Exactly. Kershaw even puts a little grease on from the factory, but sometimes it's not enough to completely stop the rattle.
