Gotta say they got thier act together there. I called to buy a clip on my ZT200. I have had it now close to 3 years and the other day it snagged at work and really twisted it out and about. So I called KAI and asked to just buy one, and she said no. That they will just send one out. I know it is a cheap part for them but it was nice to have them send one free. Spyderco wanted to charge me for one a year ago.

Funny part is she asked if there was anything else that she could do and I said sure send me 2 clips. she laughed and said sure. Gotta say they really do make kickass blades and have great CS people there. they have a customer for life!

Kershaw really looks after its customers. Good to know that if I buy something from them, they back it up.

Good to know because I just got my ZT0350 and managed to mess-up my pocket clip too. I did order one a week and a half ago and it still hasn't shown up so today I emailed them again and she said that she put in another order. Hopefully next week I'll have it. I hear sooooo many good things about Kershaw's customer service, yet the only thing I can say good about it so far is that they reply to your e-mails really fast...

Cheap or not, that still probably cost KAI $5 to $10 bucks. But they are maintaining a customer for life. Kudos to ZT support! Noble.

ZT and KAI are awesome to their customers, I needed a new pivot screw and torsion bar for my ZT-300 and they ended up giving me (2) torsion bars, (2) sets of pivot screws (1) a Torx tool, (2) pocket clips and some other goodies. This was the most recent of my orders, and was to my DOOR 3 days after e-mailing them.

If there Is anything bad I can say about them, It's that KAI parts are slow to ship. Granted I live across the country from them, I usually have to wait a month to 6 weeks for parts. (but hey, the parts are still free!) Also, ZT shipping Is priority as far as I know.

I have been, and always will be, a Kershaw-holic.

I emailed regarding a screw that was stripped out on a Shallot, Cheryl responded and she is a real sweetheart. That experience alone speaks volumes. KAI = Good Stuff!

Last time I had to phone them was about a Blur torsion bar. They sent me a half dozen or so torsion bars, two spare pocket clips w/ screws, a couple spare pivots, at least two whole sets of body screws, a torx tool, and the whole lot of it arrived within a week. Considering I live in Canada, that's really fast shipping, considering it had to cross so many miles and run the gauntlet of Canadian Customs.

Kershaw is pretty much the best in the business when it comes to customer care.
It doesn't hurt that they make fantastic knives either.

I've also received great customer service from ZT. All I needed was one clip screw, they sent 2 screws and another clip. No charge.

Is it common for torsion bars to need periodic replacement? I EDC a ZT 301, and I have to say i have been very impressed with the overall workmanship and feel of the blade, but the fact that I may be replacing the torsion bar or pivot screw in a year or two worries me a bit.

I replace my torsion bars In my EDC's every 3 months, they bend over time and eventually snap. It's not hard at all to do, I'll post some pictures this afternoon. As for the pivot screw, you won't mess It up, I did a REALLY stupid maneuver with mine and stripped It.

I've found that torsion bars will break if you use them enough, it's just a question of when.

Your pivot screw won't need replacement, just a torsion bar. It's a really simple process.

ZT is really knows how to make a high quality knife AND treat their customers. I have called several times just to get a production date for my newer ZT knives that are not date stamped. Awesome service and professional staff. On another note, I took my torsion bar out of my ZT0350. I didnt feel I needed it and you never know just how smooth these knives are when they are assisted opening. The 0350 is smooth as glass, just as fast opening, and so much more satisfying opening it. It just has more control without springing open. My 0200 gave me the idea because that is a non assisted opener and is just as fast. I recommend trying it on your 0350 or 0300 line.

Glad that you said KAI... because my Kershaw and ZT knives get uber pampered anytime that I need to send them in and there turn around time is half what they say it will be.

What's cool about them sending you parts is that it means they're fine with you working on your own knife whereas that would void the warranty of most other companies. I don't want people reading this thread to think that these kai products break more often. I've had to deal with warranty services of spyderco, benchmade, and buck. Kai has been head and shoulders above them (though benchmade isn't too far behind). Kai's service alone has made me look at more and more of their knives (I used to be a die hard spyderfan).

Knives break from misuse and abuse.:D
If you open and close any other enough times it will break or malfunction in some way.

Kershaw, KAI, and ZT all have some of the best customer service out there.
My emails are always responded to very quickly.
When I do have to send something in I just stick the knife and a note with the information in the box and they take care of the rest.

Thanks for the great job Kershaw, KAI, and ZT! Keep up the good work.

Jason
