zt frame lock spacing old vs new

sorry if this question has been asked before but i couldnt find it in a search. i recently traded into a 0300 with a lower serial # than my others. the older model has a signifigant space in between the lock and the rest of the frame, my newer ones have much less of a space. my question is why did zt re design the space out of the newer models? just the kind of stuff a collector wonders about...

they used a different machine to do the cut out. does not effect performance in any way.

im glad to hear it dosent affect peformance, i guess im just curious as to why they changed it

One machine broke, and it was replaced.
