ZT Kershaw Warranty/CS another home run (long rambling praise inside)

I had the day off yesterday to pick up parents at the airport but their flight didn't come in until 5:30 so I ran by KAI. Before heading in to warranty I thought I'd drop by the main office and say hello. I walked right by the sign that I believe said "hey dummy, we close at 2 today and the warehouse sale is NOT Black Friday". I assumed it was just about the warehouse sale.

I chatted a bit in between dozens of calls about the warehouse sale NOT this week and stupid complaints and conspiracy theories about certain retailers getting unmarked factory seconds. S has the patience of a saint!

She also went and retrieved an 0777,an 0888 and an 0560CBCF from Thomas for me to check out. The 777 is amazingly light and thin, the 0888 has a great organic design with a nice black coating giving it a bit
of an H.R. Giger or squid tentacle look to it with the pivot. It looks really nice. The 0600 has a nice thick blade and the insets and fine machining are spectacular. The prototype has all of the edges and texture smoothed perfectly to be grippy but without any edges. The blade has a stonewash that is a bit more aggressive than on the 0560CBCF and my 0560 and I love a nice deep tumbled finish.

So after all of that, S says they close in 5 minutes and asked if I had already dropped off my 0301 so I ran over to warranty quickly. They had to replace my back handles with something that fit and I was told it would be 15 to 20 minutes. Not that I was late and I could pick it up Monday. Around 10 minutes later and after closing time they bring me the 0301 back and it is perfect!

I don't know the names of the staff in warranty but I'd like to thank them for their quick and efficient service even a few minutes before leaving before the holiday! Reception and some people recognize me (although it had been 6 months since my last visit so maybe not) but I've only been in warranty one other time so as far as they know it was my only knife and they went out of their way for me as they would anyone.. Not that I expect any different, but don't want anyone to diminish the great work they do by assuming I get special treatment. The only special treatment I might get is an escort out of the building for delivering packages that could be mistaken for something dangerous and being a a bit of a fanatic. What can I say.. Some people have sports teams or NASCAR drivers, I've got KAI-USA. Photos of the KAI logo shaved in my chest hair coming soon! (no not really! I'm not that cruel to blind you all!)
 
You share a good story but I want to hit you. Thats pretty awesome to be able to stop by and see all the awesome knives and chat and get your knife pampered. But glad you shared, one day Ill just swing by KAI... with balloons and a fruit basket and some Jameson.
 
Cool story, and it does not surprise me.

The folks at Kai treat you like family, truly!

My couple of hours spent there were some of the most memorable that I have exeperienced in some time.

By the way, Kai had one of the prettiest receptionists that I have seen, and she was pleasant and patient with us dirty motorcyclists coming into her lobby.
