i really like the looks of the zt 301 and 302! anyone have picks of them?

Does anyone know where to get them used or for a good new price?

I have a ZT301 and love it. The only difference is the colors. The 300 is black, 301 green, 302 tan. Its an assisted opener, you simply the push the flipper down and as soon as its flush with the top of the handle, the spring takes over and opens the knife.

I feel this knife is one of the finest values out there on the market. You get Titanium handle frame, G-10 scales, S30V blade. These fine features are the staple of CRK, Strider, Hinderer costing 2-3 times more.

As far as where to get one, I would stear away from the $200+ price and get one from Kershawguy here on the forum. I got a blem for much cheaper than the $200+ price and I am still looking for the blem.

The only thing I dont like about it is the recurve blade, I just wish the bottom was flat. The recurve just maked it a little harder to sharpen on the flats of the sharpmaker is all. Using the edges of the sharpmaker easily fixes this though.

Its a great knife for a great price and is certainly a great value. I highly recommend it to anyone that is thinking about a top of the line knife, but is a little short in the pocketbook.

Here is some pics I had, not sure where they came from...Enjoy !

I agree 100%!
I got mine from Kershaw Guy, not a blem but a first run 301 for under $200.
Yes this knife is a great value and terrific knife.
It is heavy but that concerns me not at all.
The Sharpmaker cures all concerns about recurves.

Get One!!

great pics

Note that the liner, pocket clip and everything beside the locking side and G10 slab is steel, not Ti.

I must agree with the positive impressions of the ZT knives. I carry a ZT 301 folder and a ZT 121 fixed blade. I also have a SNG Tanto folding Strider. I probable wear the 301 the majority of the time and I find the 301 blade to be more useful than the tanto Strider for most tasks. The ZT knives are solid and heavily constructed and heavy! They are an excellent value.

I am curious what ZT folder owners think of the open assist with their folders. I thus far like it and have no problem with it.

I love the ZT 300 series. I have a black 300 and it's a hands down favorite. This is one BEEFY knife--which I happen to like about it--that's very well finished and made from high quality materials, right here in the U.S.A.

Mine opens smoothly and locks up HARD--as in zero movement in any direction, and that's with a little under 50% engagement of the Ti locking liner.

I think the flipper is the greatest assisted opening mechanism around. In fact, I prefer it to any of my Benchmade autos, and I like my BM autos a lot.

Here's some pics next to some large Benchmades to give you a sense of scale:

I like the assisted flipper, no problems with it here at all. I would like to get a couple extra springs just incase it ever breaks way down the road. I read where they were tested to 10,000 openings........Thats Alot..!!!

The Assisted spring opening on the 300 series is quite nice, They are good knives for the money, especially if you cannot afford a Strider. Then they are the GO TO hard use BIG folder.

Your best bet is to e-mail him to get the most current price:

If you want to save some money get a Blem. They are usually rejected at the factory for minor cosmetic flaws that don't affect usability. They don't have a Lifetime Warranty, but with Kershaw/ZT sending out free screws, clips, torsion bars, etc. that isn't too much of a problem.

I have a 301 Blem and a 300 non-Blem. I've tried and tried and I can't find anything wrong with the 301 compared to the 300. The only difference is the "XXXX" stamp showing that its a Blem.

The blems from kershawguy here on the forum are cheaper even. PM him and ask him. I got a blem and cant find it. The only mark I see is a small spec on the blade where they may have been a piece of dust when it was sprayed, then flaked off. Its only like 1/64th in diameter. If this is them blem.........WOW.

I dont care if it has any blemishes or not but if it saves money why not right!

this thread is not helping my epic want of a zt302.
Not to hi-jack or anything, but how does the 302 compare to the SMF weight wise when being carried?
