Okay. I have now until Christmas to decide. I can get either the Kershaw Clash or the Tenacious. If I go for Kershaw, I will get the 0350 for Christmas. If I go Spyderco, I will get the manix 2. I cannot decide. My birthday is in February, so I will get both eventually but in the mean time, what is your input?

Spyderco. I like their locks better. Both are quality knives, I just prefer spyderco.

That is a tough call.
Do you like flippers? Are you into assisted openers? If yes get the 0350. I really liked mine. I broke my torsion bar tho. Kershaw fixed it.
If you want a manual folder the manix 2 Is awesome. Some people get turned off by the plastic in the lock but it didn't bother me.

Both are great knives from great companies. Go to a knife-store. Try to handle both side by side. Then it will be easy for you to pick.

I have carried both brands and I think you should just save up and get a ZT 0300 its the nicest knife I have ever used its a tank!

wow so many opinions. i havnt heard anything good about ZT yet. they look great and are really expensive for so so materials, but in my opinion, with a 3 to 13 ratio of kershaws to spydercos owned, i generally have preferance to spyderco. but as which is better can never truely be won, whichever you have stuck inyour head the longest and fall in love with. and yes, both is also i choice. this is 'Merica where you can get both. i would like to own a Zt knife though, as a collecter, and for my own experience and because they look cool :)

+1 Spyderco

I recently fell in love with the simplicity of their models. I'm also a huge fan of thumb-holes/leaf-shaped blade styles. I don't own any ZT knives, I'm sure they are great knives, just don't like the big bulky designs. That's me though..

Do you want a Chevy or Ford? Both companies do offer some similar knives, but most of them are different purposes. Spyderco focuses on aesthetics and cutting ability (hence so many FFG models), while ZT focuses on tough as nails with the unbeatable warranty to back their knives.

The 350 is a great knife. So is the Manix. I would say that the Manix does give a bit more knife for the money, though. Nothing against either knife. The biggest advantage of ZT knives, though, is that they are cake to tear down and clean. I prefer ease of cleaning.

Umm, what?

I'd get the 0350 hands down. If you don't like the assist, take it out and use it as a manual flipper. It's got a stout liner lock and if anything goes wrong you've got the great customer service that KAI offers.

I'd get the ZT801, but that's just me.

Honestly, you cannot go wrong with either.

And on a ZT you won't void your warranty by taking it apart for cleaning.

Will this be a user among hundreds of other folders? Then you will probably have both later anyways.

IMO, ZT is bulky, so if bulky is what you need they are solid.

spyderco seems more thin and precise, also solid.

I wanted a ZT but couldnt get past the weight and size.

I think the ZT 0350 is about as close to the perfect folder made! Lock up is solid, never had an issue with blade play, good steel and great ergonomics! Probably our best seller and I have never once had a return or a complaint on one!

it's all about personal preference but I like the manix 2 better. the spyderco design & cpm-s30v for the win.

You need to get them in hand and see which one grabs your attention.
Also consider what you have and will do with it, if you have small knives get the ZT, big get Spyderco so you have a blade for all occasions.

I like ZT and would get one of those..
