ZT preorders

I'm relatively new to knives so I'm a bit unsure about how/when new models are released and time frames and what not. I really enjoy the look of the new zt 0770, and it would be my first ZT. However, I've read a lot of complaints dont give time frames makig for uncertain times to actually receive the knife and its very unclear when they would actually be put into production. If a website allows me to pre-order the knife is it reasonable to assume a month or could it be closer to a year? I'm sure it varies from brand to brand but that 0770 is looking like exactly what I'm in the market for.

Pre order or not it doesnt matter they will be available when they are ready. Dont mean to be harsh but trying to guess when the release date is pointless. They quit giving the time frame because people get pissy when they dont meet expectations

Yep. Also, what year did the 0777 win knife of the year? :p

When reading complaints always consider the source. Just because there is a perceived problem, doesn't always make it an actual real problem. Some folks are very, very, very inpatient and haven't learned that virtue yet. It's hard for any manufacturer to provide an exact timeframe, delays can happen for a variety of reasons including broken machinery, production schedule conflicts, steel availability, and anything else you can probably think of. In otherwords, they will be done when they are done.

The best approach for me is as follows: Always have a knife, so if you are shopping for your first knife I'd recommend getting something currently available. Then, if you see a knife you really want go ahead and preorder it, whenever it is completed you'll get it. If I'm not in utter love with it or know I can pick it up when they come out and I've seen it or read feedback then I'll get it if I still am interested.
